Previouslongest fast was 84 hours, so 4 full days was a new challenge. Here's how it went. Day 1 - I'm well adapted to fasting for 24-36 hours so I barely noticed I was fasting the first day. PS.: I have heard some people suggest that 24-hour fasts are good for teaching the body how to use ketones instead of glucose. By giving the body no fuel except those derived from stored fat, you force the body to adapt and grow better at carb-restricted functioning.

Ilost 35 lbs last year with intermittent fasting, not working out, and not counting calories. My fasting regimen was not 18:6, though — I did a mix of 16:8 and 24, 36, 42, and 48 hour fasts. But I would say that probably most of my fasts were in the 16-24 hour range.
Its fine to do either long term as long as you have excess fat to lose. Obviously, you will likely see faster results with rolling 48s unless you are able to somehow fit 2-3 meals worth of food into one meal while doing that. I lost 55 pounds in 6 months with ADF (rolling 36:12) highly recommend personally.
